How To... Orange lips.

Word on the street is that orange lips are the thing to be seen sporting this spring. Forget the classic red, its all about those bright corals, subtle peaches and in your face tangerines.
I have been sporting the orange pout for a while, it is my number one favourite lip look. However if you aren't used to wearing this seasons hottest look then it can be a little daunting to jump in at the deep end.
Here is an orange lipstick guide for beginners right through to professional bold lip beauty. And the best bit? They are all under £8.

Top: Seventeen Mirror Shine - Cheeky Secret (£4.79)
Middle: Revlon Lip Butter - Juicy Papaya (£7.99)

Beginners - If you are a beginner to the orange lip then the above products are perfect. A light glossy tint without an opaque colour is the easiest way to ease yourself in to a bright lip. These sheer orange shades are lovely for spring and summer and easy to reapply throughout the day without the need for a mirror and super
precision.

Top: Elf Moisturising Lipstick - Coral Cutie (£3.95)
Bottom: Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain - Rendezvous (£7.99)

Intermediate - When it comes to the intermediate orange lip its easier to go for more peach tones than a vibrant orange. A matte or satin finish is also less in your face so its a great way to get that pop without it being the main feature. A stain is also perfect for adding a sheer wash of colour that is easily buildable.

Top: Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids Lipstick - Electric Orange (£7.17)
Bottom: Rimmel - Moisture Renew Lipstick - In Love With Ginger (£6.49)

Advanced - The advanced lip is a a free for all in the bright lip arena. You can go for a shocking neon, like the neon Maybelline above, or a stand out vamp lip. It doesn't matter as long as you rock it with confidence. Above are just two of my favourite bright oranges but there are a lot lot more that fall in to this category.

Actually Dolly

Just a quick post to let you know that I have started a new blog with a little less lipstick and a little more...everything else. The Lipstick Blog is very much still alive, but it just has a new little sister in the form of Actually Dolly.
See you there.

No7 Perfect Lips Kit

Every now and then No7 offer a "gift with purchase" on various products. I have never seen them do this before but after this particular offer ended they decided to sell off the sets at a bargain price.

This is the No7 Perfect Lips Kit which I picked up for a barginous £5. Inside you get -
A full size No7 Stay Perfect Lipstick in Classic Rose (£9.75)
A full size No7 High Shine Lip Gloss in Smile (£9.00)
And a full size No7 Lip Brush (£7.00)
My maths is a little rusty but I make that a saving of £20.75. The shades are great every day colours that would suit almost everyone and the lip brush will be a perfect addition to my brush collection.
I found this set in one of my smaller boots stores but they had loads dotted around the store in various places. If you spot one of these sets I definitely recommend picking it up, if not for yourself then it would make a great expensive looking present.

2014 Lip Lust List

Hello, I'm back, and what better way to kick off my first post of 2014 than with a Lip Lust List. I have not only been out of the blogging loop, but pretty much the entire beauty loop for a couple of months now so I am still catching up on whats hot and whats not. One thing I am quickly realising is lipsticks are still very much HOT (Thank goodness) So this is what I will be lusting after in 2014.

The Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lips started to appear on blogs at the mid to end of last year and I didn't see a single shade I disliked. Not only that but the packaging just screams "Buy me". I am really not fussy which shade I end up with, as long as one is in my handbag by the end of this year.

This Sisley Lipstick has been on my wishlist forever. I would say possibly two years. Although all the colours look spectacular, the one that really drew me in was "Rose Fushia" I wouldn't say no to "Mandarin" either.
(Can we all just take a minute to debate the spelling of the word Fushia. Every website I went on to look for this lipstick spelled it differently)

Although they are yet to reach our shores I am already lusting after some of the Revlon ColourBurst Matte Balms. If they are anything like the Kissable Balm Stains they are going to be a huge hit. I haven't heard such great things about the Lacquers that are coming out at the same time, so I might have to skip those.

That's all I am lusting after at the moment, However I doubt the list will stay that modest for very long. Am I missing out on anything? What is on your lust list?
